Q+A with Film Maker, Chosang Tenzin – Tenzi Films

Film Maker, Creator & Traveller are just a few words to describe Chosangs style and work. We met Chosang one day at Sidenote Café and it quickly turned into a brainstorming session on how he can improve our business by using video and quality photography. We quickly hired him to do some work for us and fast forward a few months we are back to interview him about his business and what he thinks about living in Mimico.

Q. Hi Chosang, tell us a little about your self and how you got started making cool videos?

A. I started shooting videos back when I was in highschool. I took a course in film and fell in love with story-telling. Ever since then I always found myself recording different moments and editing them into a story.

Q. Can you describe the creation process?

A. My client work is usually planned ahead with clients sometimes storyboarded to make their brand or products come to life. Most of my personal travel films are more run and gun and it’s me trying to capture the place in a unique perspective, trying to create a feeling and emotion.

Q. Do you have a team?

A. I am currently working independently and looking to create a team very soon.

Q. Who is your ideal clientele?

A. My ideal clientele are businesses that are looking to improve their social media platform, content quality and looking to share their brand story with others.

Q. Any big projects we can look forward to?

A. Currently, my personal project that I am working on is to be consistent on Youtube and travel more so I can capture more stories from around the world.

Q. What other hobbies do you have?

A. I really enjoy biking, reading books and playing my guitar.

Q. Do you get any inspiration from the neighbourhood we live in?

A. I definitely get inspired from the neighbourhood, we have lakeshore just a block down and it’s an endless photo and video opportunity.

Q. How long have you lived in Mimico? What do you like about it?

A. I have lived in Mimico for about 4 years. Geographically, I love how it’s in the middle of everything you need. Downtown is about a 10 minute drive, yet it is right by the beautiful Humber Bay lakeshore. There is also a very high sense of community in the neighbourhood.

Q. What can be improved?

A. I would love to see more community events where people can get together.
